Position: Account Manager
Start date: Immediately
We are in search of a full-time Account Manager to join our team and manage the day-to-day operations of our clients’ business in Canada from our Calgary, Alberta head office.
This employee will generally be required to work Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm, although flex hours may be required to accommodate operations in different international time zones.
You might be the perfect fit for this contract position if you have:
- Account management experience in the wine industry
- Worked in a senior position for a liquor importation agency or liquor order desk
- Completed your WSET Level 2 or higher
- Worked in liquor retail at a management level, with an emphasis on premium wine sales
- Gained experience working at a winery in a sales or export role
- Experience in liquor logistics or merchandising
- Published wine reviews, blogs or other wine-related content
You should also possess the following skills and abilities:
- Exceptional client management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Spreadsheet wizard
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Self-starter and takes initiative
- Strong wine knowledge and desire to continue wine education
- ProServe Certification

Account Management and Client Success
Having a proven track record of managing client success and relationship building are foundational to this role. You will have worked with key accounts and managed communications and challenges through project coordination, problem solving and proactive risk management. Coordination with suppliers and shippers requires diligent communication and deadline management. You will be tasked with hard deadlines and need to manage multiple tasks of high importance, from: sourcing product, creating and maintaining communication with agencies, sustaining inventory controls, create wine content and profiles, and overseeing the daily logistics of orders.
Astute Attention to Detail
This role requires extreme attention to detail. You will work with the Procurement Manager to help ensure inventory standards are met, and all deliverables are completed on time and accurately. This role is meant for someone who can juggle multiple responsibilities and deliverables while maintaining exceptional quality standards. Precision and accuracy in executing defined processes and managing detailed data management is key to your success. You have the ability to understand and interpret financial data. This role requires you to oversee purchase orders, from preparation and recording to tracking and managing risks. Analyze inventory to determine product performance for sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, new/aged inventory, and ROI. Seek opportunity buys, analyze performance by style, react to trends and opportunities. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory practices with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
It is essential to have a comprehensive working knowledge of the following, or similar software applications, or be eager at learning: Basecamp, Lightspeed, Liquor Connect, Google Suite (sheets), and other ecommerce platforms like Big Commerce and ShipStation.
